As a graphic designer at KOCA Design Studio, I undertook a compelling project for a short film festival, tasked with the mission of crafting advertisements tailored to captivate a younger demographic. The festival's pre-existing branding and visual identity, expertly established by a fellow designer, provided the groundwork within which I navigated to ensure a cohesive visual representation.
In the creation of the advertisement, I employed a daring and contemporary typography, strategically presenting the festival's name and crucial details. The incorporation of the festival's distinctive color palette—red and burgundy—was pivotal in making the ad visually striking. To infuse a cinematic ambiance, I meticulously designed the ad to emulate the aesthetics of movie theater lights, incorporating lines that mirrored the grandeur of projector lights.
The reach of this project extended across diverse online platforms, including social media and the festival's official website. Moreover, the ad transcended the digital realm, being translated onto posters and banners for widespread distribution. Going beyond traditional mediums, I curated special panels showcased on cinema screens during the awards ceremony, spotlighting the excellence of the festival's best films and actors. This initiative served as a testament to the richness of talent within the short film industry.
In essence, this project undertaken by KOCA Design Studio seamlessly captured the festival's essence and effectively resonated with a younger audience. The amalgamation of bold design elements and strategic deployment across various channels contributed to a challenging yet gratifying endeavor, ultimately broadening the festival's reach and acclaim within the realm of short films.
